ESOL Program

ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) courses can provide the skills needed to succeed in business and in your everyday life. Start with the basics by learning to read and write everyday English. As you progress, you will refine your conversation and writing skills. Register today!

ESOL Placement Test

Beginning ESOL student’s English fluency varies, so we test all ESOL 1 and 2 students to assure that they are placed in the correct ESOL level class. Students who are new to our ESOL classes and are not sure which class they should enroll in are also welcome to take the placement test. There is no charge for registered students to take this Placement Test.

ESOL 1 - Beginners

Non-English speaking adults will begin to speak and write English. Conversational topics such as personal information, shopping, places around town, and identifying common items and places will improve your English language skills. Text required. Students are required to take the ESOL Placement Test on Wednesday January 21, 2009.

ESOL 2 - Advanced Beginners

If you speak and write basic English,ESOL 2 is the course for you. You will improve your comprehension, grammar, and speaking ability. You'll cover topics such as past, present and future, public transportation, meals and restaurants, and more. Text required. ESOL 2 students are required to take the ESOL Placement Test on Wednesday January 21, 2009.

ESOL 3 - Intermediate

If you are ready to refine your pronunciation and writing skills, ESOL 3 is the course for you. You will learn communication skills for job interviews, medical appointments, talking about likes and dislikes and more. We will concentrate on refining grammar and making conversations more fluid. Text required.

ESOL 4 - Advanced

If you have good English languge skills, ESOL 4 will help you to perfect your writing, speaking, and reading. We will work on advanced topics with conversations about auto repairs, travel, hiring services, making inquiries and more. Emphasis is on correct grammar in more complex writing and conversation.
