Food Service is an important part of your child's school day.  Studies have repeatedly shown that students who eat well do better in school.  Our goal is to provide every student with nutritious, delicious, balanced meals.

Is my child eligible for free or reduced meals?

Depending on your family income, your child may be eligible for free or reduce price meals. Is your student eligible for free or reduced price meals? Find out more...

How much does lunch cost?

Elementary full-price student lunch is $1.50.  Secondary full-price student lunch is $1.75. The cost for a reduced price lunch is 40 cents and a reduced price breakfast is 25 cents.

Do you serve breakfast?

Breakfast is available every morning immediately before school starts at all schools in Quincy. Breakfast consists of a selection of cereals, muffins, bagels, peanut butter, cream cheese, fresh fruit, fruit juice and milk. The cost for breakfast is 60 cents at elementary schools, 75 cents at middle schools and $1.00 at high schools. At the secondary level breakfast ala carte items are also available for purchase. Students who are eligible for Free or Reduced price lunches are automatically eligible for free or reduced price breakfast. The cost for a reduced price breakfast is 25 cents.

What beverages do you serve with lunches?

Milk is served with all lunches.  Milk choices include 2%, 1%, and 1% chocolate.   Some lunches also include fruit juices in addition to the milk.

cornSummer Lunch Program

Good nutrition doesn't end when the school year is over!  At Quincy Public Schools Food Service program, we are committed to providing delicious, balanced meals to Quincy Public School children during the summer months. The summer menu can be found under the elementary menu icon. Free lunches are available to all kids (age 18 or younger) Monday through Friday, from 11:00 to 1:00 beginning June 28  through August 20, 2004 (closed July 5) at the following locations:

  • Snug Harbor School - 333 Palmer Street, Germantown (outdoor shelter area)
  • Quincy Housing Authority - 9 Bicknell Circle, Germantown (at the circle)
  • Lincoln Hancock Elementary School - 300 Granite Street, Quincy Center, (school cafeteria)
  • Parker Elementary School - 148 Billings Road North Quincy (school cafeteria, enter door by playground)

Free/Reduced Meals

Students from households that earn less than 130 percent of the poverty level are eligible for free meals and those with incomes between 130 and 185 percent of poverty level qualify for reduced price meals. The cost for a reduced price lunch is 40 cents and a reduced price breakfast is 25 cents.

Should you apply?

We are committed to providing meals to every student regardless of family income. In Quincy, approximately 30 percent of the enrolled students qualify for free and reduced price school meals. Guidelines are updated each year on July 1.
