Clerical, Paraprofessional and Support Staff Employment Opportunities

Support Staff Vacancies

There are no permanent full-time vacancies available in the above positions at this time.  There are opportunities for substitute, on-call, work in all positions listed above.  Substitute work can lead to full-time employment.  If you are interested, please drop in to the Quincy Public Schools Personnel Office between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. any business day.  We are also open during school vacations and summer months.  We are located at 159 Burgin Parkway (3 floor), Quincy, MA.

Transportation Department Vacancies:

  1. Part-time and Substitute School  Bus Drivers.    Day and evening hours. Can lead to full-time position. CDL preferred, but will train. Clean criminal background check and clean driving record required. $15.10/hr to start.        

  2. 14 Passenger Bus Driver  Restricted School Bus 14 Passenger License required, but will train; $13.60/hr to start.

  3. Special Education Van Driver  7D license required, but we will train; $12.10/hr to start

  4. Special Education Transportation Monitors  $11.05/hr to start.         

At the present only substitutes and part-time vacancies exist, but these positions often lead to full-time employment with benefits. If you are interested, please call Lois Constantino (617-984-8964).  A clean driving record and an acceptable criminal background check are essential for Transportation Department positions.

Lunch Attendants Vacancies

Lunch attendants work for 2 to 21/2 hours per day, four days per week, monitoring elementary school students while they eat lunch, and in the playground after lunch.  Salary is $9.29 per hour for a regular lunch attendant, and $8.17 per hour for a substitute lunch attendant.

Lunch attendant work can lead to positions as a cafeteria worker or as a paraprofessional (teacher aid).  Most lunch attendants work in the elementary school closest to their home.  If you are interested in this work, please call the Principal of the elementary school in your neighborhood to see if there are any vacancies.  If you are willing to work at any elementary school, please call Mary Lou Peck (617-984-8774).

School Volunteers

There are opportunities for school volunteers at every level, and in almost every school.  If you are interested in becoming a school volunteer, please call the Principal of the elementary, middle or high school that interests you to see if there are openings.
