Students in grades 9 and 10 are required to take Health Education for
one period per six day cycle for each year (.5 credit per year).
The course is a professionally designed and regularly administered
health curriculum in which the course content will include instruction
in areas of knowledge which will enable the student to possess the
vitality and vigor necessary for a full and productive life. Special
emphasis will be placed upon alcohol and other drugs and HIV/AIDS
curriculum.
Students in the 11th and 12th grades may take a Health Education
elective course. Students will be required to take a health elective for
one period per six day cycle for one half year (.5 credit per l/2 year).
A course designed to discuss contemporary issues concerning women, such as clear guidelines for the early detection of breast and uterine cancer as well as many other concerning issues a young women may encounter in her adult life and how to deal with them.
A course designed to discuss contemporary issues concerning men, such as clear guidelines for early detection of prostate and testicular cancer as well as many other concerning issues a young man may encounter in his adult life and how to deal with them.
