Text Box: Project Wisdom is one of the oldest and most respected character education programs in the nation. Its collection of daily words of wisdom is currently licensed to over 15,000 schools nationwide. The messages set a positive tone for the day for everyone on campus. This program imparts an understanding of core ethical values and fosters caring behavior.                        Our Project Wisdom focus for the month of October is respect.  Our morning messages center around this theme, and teachers are following up on it in their daily classroom lessons.  Two students from each class will be awarded the Golden Rule Award at our assembly, on Friday, October 26, at 1:00 PM, for exemplifying respectful
Text Box: qualities throughout the month.  Ask your child about what he/she has been learning about respect, and how he/she has been showing respect at school, as well as at home!                         Our fifth graders will lead our October assembly, and we will honor some special guests who have become part of our Parker family. This is a great opportunity for the entire learning community to come together to celebrate our mutual respect.  All families are invited to join us!

Text Box: A reminder to all parents from our friends at the Quincy Police Department   that, for the safety of all of our students, double parking in front of the school— in the morning when dropping children off, and in the afternoon at dismissal— is strictly prohibited .  We realize that parking is scarce at these times, and suggest that live parking by the playground gate, while letting students get out ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY is a safe way to drop off.  Once students have exited the car and entered the school yard, please move on to allow other parents to use the same space for drop off. Working together, we’ll make sure all of our students arrive safely!
Thank you!

Text Box: Our 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) programs are getting underway.  These programs are offered through a State grant, which was designed to offer extended day learning opportunities for students who are at risk. The grant requires that programs be developed with a target population in mind, and
Text Box: planned to strengthen skills in particular areas for students of concern.  Therefore, our programs were offered first by invitation only, to students who have been identified as having risk in reaching their learning potential.  After those replies were received, programs with remaining openings were then opened up to the entire school population.
Text Box: Space was limited., and great effort was made to ensure that most students who were interested in participating, were able to be enrolled in at least one program of their choice.  Thank you for returning registration forms so quickly and for  thank you for understanding!

Text Box: ILT Meetings Begin...
At Parker School, we believe in collaborating to make instructional decisions!  Our Integrated Learning Team, consisting of Literacy Teachers, Resource Room Teacher, ELL Teachers, Administrators, and Classroom Teachers will meet this week to analyze Fall assessment data for individual students.  Intervention programs will be scheduled to meet the needs of each student, and to assure that all of our students are getting the support they need to be successful.  Through ongoing progress monitoring, we will stay on track toward our instructional goals!
