Text Box: In this, our first family newsletter for 2007-2008, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you to the Parker School Family.  Parker School is a very special learning community, where administrators, teachers, parents, and community members work collaboratively and cooperatively to provide the very best educational experience possible for our students. Whether you are returning as a family who has been involved at Parker for many years, or you are a new family to our community, we all begin this year with fresh enthusiasm and a mutual goal of providing successful and happy  learning experiences for all of our students.  You will receive a family newsletter and calendar each month to help keep you informed and involved in the life of the school.  I encourage you to post your monthly calendar in a consistent place at home, and to refer to it often in your family planning.   As we begin our 2007-2008 school year, we are pleased to introduce our new Assistant Principal and Literacy Teacher, Mrs. Robin Moreira.  A QPS educator for the past 9 years, Robin brings experience from her work as a primary teacher, literacy specialist, city-wide program coordinator and professional development presenter.  Robin is a caring and dedicated educator, and will make a wonderful addition to our leadership team.  In addition to Mrs. Moreira, we have 4 other new staff members to welcome aboard for the new school year:                           Guidance                         Mrs. JoAnna Goodwin                           Resource Room                Ms. Lauren Ryan                           Grade 4 BGD                   Ms. Heather Ewing                           Grade 4                            Mrs. Katie Connolly These educators are all highly skilled, and bring unique gifts to their new positions.  Please join me in welcoming our new staff members at our Open House, September 18, 2007, from 5:00-7:00 PM., when each will be on hand, along with the entire staff of the Parker School, to meet you.    I look forward to working with all of our families in the days and months ahead.  If at any time, you have questions or concerns regarding your child’s experience at Parker School, please do not hesitate to call me.
