Quincy High SchoolQuincy High School began in the mid-nineteenth century and has been at its present site since 1924.  This historic school is called the Home of the Presidents.

CTE At Quincy High School, we are proud of our academic program.  We provide courses to meet every student's needs: challenging, advanced courses for college-bound students, technical certification courses, standard courses for all students, and remedial courses for students who need additional help.  We also provide training for students who choose to enter the workforce after graduation.

Message from the Principal of Quincy High

principal quincy high schoolSince the mid-nineteenth century Quincy High School has had a long, standing tradition of excellence. It has been located at its present site since 1924, providing a wide range of academic, technical and extra-curricula programs . We are excited about making plans to soon move into a new facility that will uphold and improve upon our programs and mission. We are a comprehensive high school that holds high expectations for its students and staff to maximize their achievements as skilled professionals and life long learners in a secure educational environment.

High academic achievement takes place when the entire school community acts as a partnership towards these expectations. It is excellence in teaching that is at the heart of this academic goal. The Quincy High School staff respects different learning styles and endorses high academic standards for all its students. We also recognize the importance of the coalitions we establish with our business partners, alumni and most of all, our parents. We value the importance of families contributing general support to the school and the individual encouragement they give to their children. As a result of these collaborations, we seek to enhance the spirit of community through all of our programs. At Quincy High School we celebrate the diversity in our community by providing opportunities to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of our cultural, ethnic, gender and religious differences. We treasure this diversity as a resource in our school community. It is this commitment to high standards, establishing collaborative affiliations, and respecting human differences that makes Quincy High School a successful all-inclusive learning institution. I look forward to leading the Quincy High Schoolcommunity and its vision into a new, state of the art high school.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns. I look forward to your support and participation. Together, we will continue to uphold Quincy High School’s tradition of excellence.  Click here to view/print a copy of Quincy High's  2006-2007 School Improvement Plan.

Our Partnership Program allows businesses to bring their strengths directly to our students.  Read about the great things our partners are doing...

Quincy High School is proud of the extensive network of Partners who make real contributions to the education of our students.

Boston College

This is a new partnership for Quincy High School. Each year Boston College will provide pre-practicum and interns to Quincy High as part of its Teacher certification program. Quincy High School for its part feels it is important for veteran teachers to help prepare potential teachers for work in a multi-cultural urban setting.

Boston Marriott

The Culinary Arts program at Quincy High School is able to place its students in internships and/or part time placement, thus enabling them to obtain real world job training experience. The placements also establish opportunity for the Marriott Corporation to observe our students and eventually offer them job opportunities in the hotel and restaurant field.

Captain Forbes House Museum

This partnership continues the docent training offering of Quincy High School’s Social Studies Department by offering students an opportunity to work in a real museum setting.

Eastern Nazarene College

Eastern Nazarene College has been very active as a partner in several areas for Quincy High School. For the past several years they have provided us with space and technical support for our Leadership Training programs, especially with the Summer Leadership Camp and the Leadership Training efforts in diversity with our leadership Q-Team. Additionally, the college has collaborated with the Arts program at the school, especially with the drama and music aspects of that program.

Each year Home Depot helps us defray the cost of building projects at the High School. In the past they have helped with the cost of building the Christmas Parade float. This year they will be helping us defray the expenses of building the set for the Spring Musical.

Each year for the past several years the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office has provided us with funding for our annual Summer Student Leadership Camp. During this past year, they also enabled us to work collaboratively with the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office in locating a permanent site for our three-student leadership program at the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Youth Ranch on Cape Cod.
