A female student discussed a financial decision with a volunteer at the "Reality Check" booth

Wow, what an amazing day at QPS’ 15th annual Credit For Life Fair! NQHS and QHS seniors got a taste of real-world financial decision-making, and it was eye-opening for many of them. Students were given a hypothetical salary and had to make decisions about managing their finances based on that income level.

Students visited booths set up by many volunteers from the Quincy School ~ Community Partnership, including local businesses, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations, each offering different financial products or services, such as housing, transportation, insurance, and education.

As part of the fair, unexpected “reality checks” were presented, such as a sudden car repair or an unplanned trip to a Red Sox game, which students had to navigate while staying within their budget.

It was great to see our students engaged in conversations about financial planning and making informed choices, and we're so grateful to our teachers, administrators, and community partners and volunteers for organizing such an incredible event.
