A child who is very ill is too uncomfortable to learn. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following:

Fever: A temperature of 100°F or higher within the past 24 hours. Do not give your child fever-reducing medication and send them to school. A fever is a sign of illness and should be treated with rest, fluids, and medication such as Tylenol.
Vomiting or Diarrhea: Any episodes within 24 hours of the school day.
Persistent Cough: A cough that is painful, keeps your child awake, or is excessive and uncontrollable.
Sore Throat: Especially if lasting 24 hours or more, accompanied by fever or swollen glands. Children diagnosed with strep throat must stay home for at least 24 hours after starting antibiotics.
Rashes or Eye Drainage: Any unexplained rash or eye discharge should be evaluated by a doctor before returning to school.
Lice: Must be fully treated before your child can return to school.
