Students can choose up to two courses

  • Session 1: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
  • Session 2: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Are you looking for academic continuity between 8th and 9th grade? Want to avoid “summer slide”? Bridge to High School Summer Institute is just for you! All current 8th grade students attending Quincy or North Quincy High School in the fall are eligible and encouraged to enroll.

High School teachers from Quincy and North Quincy High School will facilitate and teach these remote learning sessions. Over this three week program, courses will review middle school prerequisite content standards as set by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Bridge to High School Summer Institute will provide support for students allowing them to feel comfortable and confident for their high school transition in the fall!

Bridge to High School Summer Institute Courses Offered:

  • Students have the option to choose one or two high school preparatory courses that include:
    • English
    • Math
    • Science
    • Spanish
  • Courses will be scheduled based on student enrollment and requests

Student Policies:

  • For students entering Quincy Public Schools grade 9 only
  • Monday - Thursday for 3 weeks: July 6-July 23
  • Two sessions offered: 8:30-10:00 and/or 10:30-12:00 dependant on student enrollment, scheduling, and instructor availability
  • Student attendance and participation is expected
  • Students must abide by the Quincy Public Schools Student’s Rights and Responsibilities Policy
