QPS Summer Update 8.6.2021
Posted on 08/06/2021

Dear Quincy Public Schools Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

Special thanks to the more than 300 Quincy Public Schools staff and administrators who collaborated on the very successful summer programming that concluded this week.  Close to 3,000 students safely participated in one or more academic and enrichment programs and there were zero positive COVID-19 cases for the five weeks July 6-August 5.  Free weekly COVID-19 Pooled Testing will continue in the new school year, thanks to support from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  To enroll, click on the appropriate link:  Grades K-8 Students    Grades 9-12 Students    QPS Staff

Planning and preparation for the 2021-2022 school year is well underway here at the Coddington Building and all of our school locations.  The Central Registration office re-opened on August 2 and elementary and middle school offices will re-open on August 30 to welcome new families to Quincy Public Schools.  Elementary school bus transportation routes have been restored to include students living 1.5 miles or more from the Bernazzani, Lincoln Hancock/South~West, Clifford  Marshall/Point Webster, Merrymount, Montclair, and Squantum schools.  Click here to request school bus transportation for your Kindergarten through Grade 5 student.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released updated guidance last week and confirmed that all school districts are expected to be open for full time in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year.  Face coverings are recommended and encouraged, but are not required, except on school bus transportation and in school health offices where they are required at all times.  We are continuing to monitor the guidance and update safety protocols and will share additional information about important  administrative appointments next week.  Enjoy the coming weeks of vacation and know that we look forward to welcoming you back for the new school year on September 8 (Grades 1-9), September 9 (Grades 10-12), and September 13 (Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten).

Sincerely,

Kevin W. Mulvey
