Policy Subcommittee Meeting
Tuesday, October 22, 2013

A meeting of the Policy Subcommittee was held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 5:15 pm in the 2 nd Floor Conference Room at the NAGE Building. Present were Mr. Paul Bregoli, Mrs. Kathryn Hubley, Mrs. Anne Mahoney, Mr. Dave McCarthy, and Ms. Barbara Isola, Chair. Also attending were Superintendent DeCristofaro, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Mulvey, Mr. Michael Draicchio, Mrs. Maura Papile, Ms. Madeline Roy, Mr. Kevin Segalla, and Ms. Laura Owens, Clerk.

Mr. Bregoli called the meeting to order at 5:25 pm. He reviewed that there are three requested dedications for consideration by the Policy Subcommittee: flagpoles at the Faxon Field Track, the Central Middle School gymnasium, and the computer lab at Atherton Hough.

Ms. Isola made a motion to name the flagpoles at the Faxon Field track in honor of Mr. Geoff Hennessy, Mr. Christopher Kennedy, and Mr. Lou Tozzi. Mrs. Mahoney seconded a motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.

Mr. Bregoli then moved on to the new Central Middle School; the proposal is to name the gymnasium in honor of Mr. Mario Casali, a Physical Education and Health Teacher at Central Middle School from 1958 to 1982. Ms. Isola made a motion to name the new Central Middle School gymnasium in honor of Mr. Mario Casal. Mrs. Mahoney seconded the motion. On the motion, Mr. Bregoli asked if the dedication could be held at the December 11, 2013 School Committee meeting that will be held at Central Middle School. On a voice vote, the ayes have it.

Ms. Isola made a motion to name the Atherton Hough Elementary School Computer Lab in honor of Mr. William B. Dunn, Jr. Mrs. Mahoney seconded a motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.

Ms. Isola made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:35 pm. Mrs. Mahoney seconded the motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
