Quincy Public Schools is a proud participant of the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy program and we will again recognize high school seniors who have studied and attained a high level of proficiency in two or more languages by awarding the 2024 Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy. Student examples include:

• Native English speaker who is proficient in a World Language

• Former English Learner (FEL) who is proficient in English and home language

• Bilingual student who is proficient in English and home language

Students may earn this designation by fulfilling the following DESE requirements:

• English Language Criteria: Meet a score of 472 or higher on the Grade 10 ELA MCAS

• World Language Criteria: Attain a high level of language on a state-approved assessment

• Classes Criteria: Satisfy all graduation requirements

Spring 2024 Testing Administration Timeline:
We will be administering the state-approved World Language assessment to interested students in Grades 11 & 12 in April.
