Quincy Public Schools has a longstanding tradition of innovative curriculum and excellence in education and we welcome all school-age children who live in Quincy, Massachusetts. Every day, dedicated Quincy Public Schools principals, administrators, and staff strive to make a difference in each and every classroom and collaborate on the goal of providing an inclusive, positive, and safe learning environment for our students and their families.

School assignments in Quincy are based on your student’s home address. Please consult this Street Directory to locate school assignments for a given address in Quincy.

New Student Registration for Winter/Spring 2024 (Grades K-12)
New student registration takes place on a rolling basis at all school sites and Central Registration (for families needing interpretation).  Grades K-12 Registration for the current school year is ongoing for new residents and transferring students who live in Quincy with their families.

Please note: Quincy does not participate in school choice nor enroll students who reside in other cities and towns. Students and their families will be required to demonstrate Quincy residence during the registration process.

Kindergarten Registration for September 2024
Children who are 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2024 are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.  

Pre-Kindergarten
Quincy Public Schools offers a limited number of seats in our Integrated Pre-Kindergarten Programs, which serve 3- and 4-year old children with special needs and their typically developing peers. Children must be 3 years old on or before August 31, 2024 to be considered for the 2024-2025 school year.

Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment requests for students to attend a school outside their neighborhood district for the 2024-2025 school year will be accepted beginning September 6, 2023.

Remain at School Requests
Students who have moved within Quincy may request to continue to attend the school they are currently attending.

Under the McKinney-Vento Act, homeless students who move and wish to enroll in a new school where they are situated while homeless may attend classes immediately without proof of residency, immunizations, school records, nor other papers.
