Math Game Directions:
Five in a Row - Add 1 or 2
Materials needed: Game board, counters or other items to cover the squares, and number cards.

Pick a number card. (0-10)

Choose 1 or 2 to add to the number and find the sum.

Put a counter on the sum on the gameboard.

Take turns with your partner.

Continue playing until someone gets five counters in a row.
Five in a Row - Subtract 1 or 2
Materials needed: Game board, counters or other items to cover the squares, and number cards.

Pick a number card. (1-10)

Subtract 1 or 2 from the number card.

Put a counter on the difference on the gameboard.

Take turns with your partner.

Continue playing until someone gets five counters in a row.
Five in a Row Add 7, 8, or 9
Materials needed: Game board, counters or other items to cover the squares, and number cards.

Pick a number card. (0-10)

Choose 7, 8, or 9 to add to the number and find the sum.

Five in a Row: one-digit plus two-digits
On the first turn, one player chooses a number in both rows, adds the numbers, and covers the sum with a counter on the gameboard.
On following turns, the players change one of the previously chosen numbers in one of the rows, add the numbers from both rows, and cover the sum with a counter on the gameboard. The first player to place five counters in a row wins.
Five in a Row: two-digit plus two-digits
On the first turn, one player chooses a number in both rows, adds the numbers, and covers the sum with a counter on the gameboard.
On following turns, the players change one of the previously chosen numbers in one of the rows, add the numbers from both rows, and cover the sum with a counter on the gameboard. The first player to place five counters in a row wins.
Five in a Row - Multiplication 1-5 and 10
Partner A chooses two numbers and places a paperclip on each number. They multiply the numbers and place a counter on the product.
Partner B moves one of the paper clips to a different number, multiplies the numbers, and places a counter on the product. Students take turns moving one paper clip, finding the product, and covering it with a counter.
Five in a Row - Multiplication 1-9
Partner A chooses two numbers and places a paperclip on each number. They multiply the numbers and place a counter on the product.
Partner B moves one of the paper clips to a different number, multiplies the numbers, and places a counter on the product. Students take turns moving one paper clip, finding the product, and covering it with a counter.
