Our Hiring Process

  1. QPS job opportunities are posted on the current opportunities page of our website; most are also listed on SchoolSpring and on the Massachusetts Partnership for Diversity in Education (MPDE) website.

  2. Application instructions for each position are listed within the job description. We typically seek a cover letter, current resume, and references. For certified positions, we may also seek transcripts and a copy of your educator license.

    You may also send your resume and a copy of your license(s) to the Office of Human Resources, Quincy Public Schools, 34 Coddington Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Your resume and license(s) will be forwarded to all schools where any vacancies exist. Please be certain that your resume clearly states the position(s) you are interested in, what Massachusetts licenses you hold, and a phone number where you can be contacted.

  3. Principals, Directors, or other district hiring managers will review your application; if they wish to interview you, you will be contacted directly by him/her for an interview.

  4. An initial job offer will be extended if you are chosen for the role; however, the offer will be contingent on all necessary background checks and reference checks being completed successfully before employment.

Once you have been selected as a finalist, you will be asked to complete the following paperwork:

You will return the completed forms in person to: Quincy Public Schools, Office of Human Resources, 34 Coddington Street, Quincy, MA 02169, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Along with the completed forms, please bring with you the following:

  1. Proof of your degree (if requested)

  2. Transcript (if requested)

  3. Teacher Licensure (if applicable)

  4. Resume

  5. A state-issued driver's license or state-issued I.D. card with a photograph

  6. An original social security card OR a birth certificate issued by the state, country, or municipal authority bearing a seal or other certification

  7. In lieu of #5 and #6 you may bring in a United States Passport OR Certification of United States Citizenship OR a Certificate of Naturalization.
