Quincy Public Schools is a proud participant of the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy program and we will again recognize high school seniors who have studied and attained a high level of proficiency in two or more languages by awarding the 2024 Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy. Student examples include:

Native English speaker who is proficient in a World Language

Former English Learner (FEL) who is proficient in English and home language

Bilingual student who is proficient in English and home language
Students may earn this designation by fulfilling the following DESE requirements:

English Language Criteria: Meet a score of 472 or higher on the Grade 10 ELA MCAS

World Language Criteria: Attain a high level of language on a state-approved assessment

Classes Criteria: Satisfy all graduation requirements
Spring 2024 Testing Administration Timeline:
We will be administering the state-approved World Language assessment to interested students in Grades 11 & 12 in April.
